First Week in Baghdad, Iraq

This the story of my first week in Baghdad, Iraq during 2008. This was time for getting up to speed on what was required for my field assignment to Forward Operating Base (FOB) Kalsu with the Embedded Provincial Reconstruction Team (ePRT) North Babil. Our ePRT was embedded with the 4th Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division. This military unit is called “The Rock of the Marne” for their heroic action in repelling a German attack in July 2018 on the Marne River.
