Presentation to George Washington University - Foreign Policy Class
Purpose of the presentation was to:
1. Explain the US budget process as it applies to the 150 account - foreign operations - which includes funding for economic development, health and social development initiatives, international drug trafficking , military training and equipment, and other activities.
2. Review the FY 2017 budget with special focus on the 150 account and discuss the different types of funding (e.g., discretionary vs contingency) and the different categories of funding and their potential linkage to domestic issues.
3. Highlight where international account funding could have a direct impact on social issues that US communities are dealing with and provide an example of how these issues could impact the students personally.
