Honduras Preventative Healthcare Initiative
In conjunction with Colleagues in Care and the Global Hypertension Working Group, the Marie Maxey Foundation will establish a preventative healthcare screening program in San Luis, Santa Barbara, Honduras. The program will identify people at high risk of negative health outcomes due to high blood pressure and other risk factors. A preliminary planning trip was made to San Luis in March 2022. Below is a summary of a trip report along with photos from the trip.
San Luis is a municipality in the Santa Barbara Department of Honduras that is primarily a coffee growing area with 25,292 citizens according to a 2018 report by the National Census Institute.
