A study conducted by FEREMA found that only 50% of Honduran public school students graduate from the 6th grade.  Of those that graduate, only half will read at grade level.  With 1.7 million public school students and a 2018 education budget in Honduras of $1.1 billion, we see a per student education investment rate of approximately $647.  If a child migrates to the Washington DC Metro Area, the investment in their education goes up to approximately $18,000.
